Tai Chi Classes in Yorkshire 07855 850 427
We currently offer classes in RAWCLIFFE, BEAL and EGGBOROUGH , within easy reach of Goole, Selby, Doncaster and Pontefract.
ALL CLASSES ARE BOOK IN ADVANCE ONLY so we can avoid over-crowding.
Nearly everyone who joins will probably be a beginner or near enough. As we progress, beginners will become Beginner-Plus and then Improvers, Intermediates and finally Advanced students.
I aim to keep students of a similar level together in a same experience class. I know how stagnating it can be for a group to constantly have new joiners coming in, going back to the start for a third, fourth, fifth time and no progress seems to be made. And for the new joiners how intimidating it is to be a beginner in a group where everyone appears to know what they are doing apart from you. This type of teaching simply doesn't work, so we don't do it. Once a class has a couple of term's experience it is closed to new joiners and new beginners will be directed to a new beginner class instead. Very occasionally it is necessary to merge back to back classes at the same venue if numbers drop off, but if this happens we make sure everyone is able to work at a level suitable for them.
If you are a shift worker it is possible to attend Thursday mornings one week and Friday evenings the following week for example, if this works for you.
I teach about 20 forms of traditional Qigong sets and two styles / 14 forms of Tai Chi so you'll never get bored :)
Everyone will start with Qigong execises and Tai Chi foundations . Qigong to ease the tension we carry around, create mindfulness of self, soothe and focus a hurried scattered mind, reduce anxiety and improve sleep. Tai Chi exercises improve posture, balance, awareness of movement, self-control and strength.
If you're a beginner, enrol for a new beginner intake - normally September and January so you start at the very beginning and progress with the group.
There are usually three classes a month . We take an occasional week off when I teach at my southern school, which has been growing for 15 years. Class dates and more info and booking can be found on each venue's page by clicking the venue name in orange below

Classes are bookable in blocks of about 6 weeks. The cost of classes is £8 x the number of classes in a block when paid by the term. Improvers' 90 minute classes are £12.
What happens when you miss a class due to being unwell, an important appointment or a holiday?
Illnesses. We have a 'Wellness Policy' for the benefit of all: Please don't attend class if you have a cold or any symptoms of a cold, stomach upset etc, even if you feel well enough to attend. Even a cold can be devastating to some people so please be considerate and keep your germs at home.
Holidays: Most people will miss a week or two now and then, so don't worry about falling behind as we recap frequently so each movement is learned thoroughly.
Whenever a class is missed for any reason you will be offered a catch up video of the new movement we covered in class, or a Zoom class recording of similar movements. There is no additional charge for this when you miss a class which you've paid for.
There is no commitment to carry on beyond the block you have booked but we hope you'll let us know if you decide to leave. If you don't renew for the following block of classes then we will offer your place to another person who may want to join.
