Tai Chi Classes in Yorkshire 07855 850 427
Pay only when you come, £8 per class
SATURDAY Mornings*: 9.30am KELLINGTON Village Hall
*The above classes usually operate three weeks per month. See KELLINGTON page for exact dates come along to ANY of these classes as a new beginner.
Classes are structured so that new beginners can join in at ANY TIME throughout the year. The focus of the class is on following our instructor in each exercise and gaining benefit from doing the movements, rather than remembering a complex sequence or set of 'principles'.
The movements are simple, slow, mindful and controlled. They will improve balance, posture, strength and overall health whilst reducing stress, anxiety and mood swings. Tai chi & qigong movements come from the exercise/ activity branch of Chinese Medicine which improves the health of the individual by balancing the flow of bio-electrical energy which each of us has - the Chinese word for this energy is Chi / Qi (pronounced chee). Quite simply put, if you improve the flow of your Chi you will improve your physical & emotional health.
If you have time to commit and want to delve into the deeper 'Art' or 'Way' of Tai Chi, utilising the more traditional progressive method of learning, we offer separate, pay monthly / half termly classes for both Beginners and Improvers, in Eggborough and Rawcliffe.
Progressive learning classes are not the same as the casual 'drop-in' sessions above, they are for people who want to learn a traditional Art rather than participate in' Tai Chi exercise for health'. Both are valid methods of learning and participating however, it just depends how often you can commit and how deeply you want to go :)
The progressive learning classes involve exercising the mind to memorise the forms, and a little practice at home between classes is encouraged / required as we progress - we have a video channel to help with that.
The progressive classes at Eggborough and Rawcliffe will build week on week through the forms (sequences) and skills of Tai Chi. This means that after a short while the class will be closed to new joiners, otherwise the group always remains at complete beginner level and no progress is made (maybe you've attended a class like this before and given up). Therefore joining at or near the start of a new beginner intake is important and why we ask you to register in advance for the Rawcliffe and Eggborough progressive classes. You will be making a commitment for 6 weeks, renewable for further blocks of 6 weeks thereafter for as long as you want to continue in the class.
Click through to the venue page via the brown links, to check the class dates as there is usually one week per month when there is no class and other occasional closures if the venue is unavailable.
