Yi Jin Jing means Muscle-Tendon metamorphosis. It's an ancient fusion of Yoga and Qigong dating back to c500AD. Around that time, Bodhidharma, an Indian monk, travelled to the Shaolin Temple and shared his Yogic practices with the Shaolin Monks who combined it with their existing Qigong practice to create 'Shaolin Yoga'.
FRIDAY 11.30pm EGGBOROUGH Improvers covered this set in early 2026

Shaolin Wu Bu Quan is a method of practicing the 5 steps or stances used in Shaolin and other styles of
Chinese martial arts, including Tai Chi. You'll also find the stances in Qigong. This video is hosted on youtube. It's usually the first form that beginners studying the Shaolin style will learn. I spent about 3 months (daily) on it in China.
FRIDAY 12.00pm EGGBOROUGH Improvers are learning this set for fitness and fun and also to have a taste of something faster and more direct than the circular movements of Tai Chi.
